His sister was able to do complex magic by the age of 12, Thomas was not so gifted. His grandmother would often comment, that he was good for a meat shield and nothing else, as all men where. This constant belittling, shook Thomas's confidence leaving him largely incapable as a spell caster. The boy was prepared to just become a mortal, when his grandfather stepped in. James Hawthorne, taught his grandson everything he knew about magic. From his grandfather Thomas learned the habits of the supernatural beings, the wards to fend of ghosts, How to summon the dead and how to survive in the world as a Male witch. Still Thomas felt pressured, and hated by his family. So at the age of 17, he chose to leave home and travel.Thomas travels took him all over the US. He dined with a vampire's, observed a wolf pack hunting, Conversed with spirit of long lost child, and even heard the sirens song. These adventures made him realize, the world needed a place for these souls to rest. Sure, some of these people had homes, but alot of them where lost. So Thomas used his family's money, to buy up a piece of land, partly wooded for his fellow witches and the werewolf's. As well as outfitting it with everything a vampire could ever want. It was paradise, but there was a catch, you had to be lost to find it. Over time, it became affectionately known as, The lost house. This is where Thomas stays, though he is rarely seen by his guest. Role Play Example:
Thomas stood in front of his mirror, the water from his shower gave his skin a sheen. He knew what he was going to do, and as he stared at himself in the mirror he was not all pleased. His hands moved quickly, he brushed his teeth flossed and rinsed with with a mixture that was 1000 times stronger then mouth wash. The male then ran his come through his wild hair, all the while he was begin to boil, this was not how he wanted to spend his time. Tossing on his shirt, then his coat all in a single motioned he strode towards the door.
Quickly, he descended the stairs and looked at the maid as he walked past. "Master" Thomas stopped. "My dear, you do not need to call me that. I am not your master, i am just Thomas. " His voice was kind, the ghost girl bowed over and over. "Oh i am so sorry sir, please forgive me' Thomas sighed as he walked past her and got his suitcase. "The new ones never seem to understand" A older woman saidto him, giving him a bit of a stern look. "Your going to help her aren't you? You realize if you help her she's never going to learn" Thomas shrugged. "If your asking me, to turn my back on my friend and leave her to wolves. Your asked me to be something im not" The woman looked at him "And what are you Thomas Hawthorne" A smirk apeared on his lips. "Not very smart" The male replied and then gave her a wave as he headed to the door.
Opening the door to the lost house, Thomas stepped out of the normal realm and in to the world between worlds. This place was glorious and bright, with warmth and energies that the world had long forgot. It was his favorite way to travel, to walk the long road and watch the nymphs and nature spirits dance and sing and allow him to clear his head. This was stupid, he was doing something stupid and he knew it . His hand gripped the handle of his briefcase, it felt surprisingly light considering what he was carrying in there. Zara was not a bad person, she was a young dhampir who was lost, she had been cast out by everyone who was supposed to love her, and now everyone was asking Thomas to do the same and that was not going to happen.
Taking a left turn off the path, Thomas walked straight ahead his eyes never losing that look and never once did he blink. "Here we are" He snapped and a door appeared in front of him. Stepping through it, he was out of the world of the Fae, and in the world of sin. "Vegas...of course it would be Vegas" he mumbled and looked up at a tall building. "Hang on kid, i am coming" Holding on to the briefcase, the male witch pushed the door open. Even inside this seemingly normal office building. This city's dark energies swirled around him, feeding him even if he didn't want to. There was power here, and that thought scared him a bit. "May i help you sir" a pale woman with red hair said, her eyes lingered on him as if he was a piece of meat. "I am here to resolve Zara maire's debt"
The woman nodded and her eyes grew sad, as if this was the last time she was going to see his handsome face. "Take the elevator to the top Mr Hawthorne" Thomas nodded and walked over and hit the button. Once he heard the ding, he stepped inside and breathed deeply. This was nuts, he was sure of it and yet all he cared about was making sure he got Zara out. Whistling gently along to Piano man as the elevator took him to the top, Thomas cracked his neck and waited. DING, well damn..that quick. Walking out of the lift, he turned and looked down a long hallway, with big windows giving him a great view of the city. The hall opened up in to a large room, where a desk stood in the middle. Two men stood off to the side and one man sat the desk and Zara was to the other side.
Thomas sighed, as he made the long walk to stand in front of the man. "I appreciate you coming Sir, The young lady has caused me a big headache" Thomas looked at Zara. "I appreciate you allowing me to settle her debt" The man behind the desk nodded, he then came over and took the briefcase. The muscle then returned the case to his boss, who opened. As soon as his eyes fell on the bags of blood on the inside he began to licks his lips. "Witches blood? however did you aqurie so much" Thomas looked at Zara, who avoided his gaze. 'I got lucky" The boss shut the case. "This is splendid, our debt is payed" Thomas nodded and motioned for zara to come to him. "However, we will be keeping the girl" The boss continued and Thomas raised a brow. "Excuse me" The boss shrugs. "Yes we will be keeping her, shes..very pretty"
Tension filled the room, Thomas stood there un moving and unblinking. "You wont be keeping her, i gave you what you want. Don't get greedy" the words where heavy and true. The boss laughed, "get rid of him" In a blink of a eye one of the muscle men had crossed the room and punched Thomas with enough force to floor him, blood. Laying on his back the male witch felt dazed, as warm blood trickled down his lip. "STOP" The boss shrieked, as he smelt the air and realized just what they where dealing with. "Oh...no" Thomas, at this point had got to his feet. "Sir i am so..sorry i did not know.."
Thoma's eyes narrowed, his breath shallow as he looked at the boss. "I tried to warn you...i tried" Turning to the two muscle. "Take a nap" The two men, began to struggle for breath, shaking and decomposing. "PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T I AM SORRY" the boss cried as he clawed at the window trying to escape, but the glass was reinforced, he was trapped with a monster. "When you get to hell, ask around and see if you can find my mother" Thomas flicked his wrist and the man burst in to flames. As Thomas took the blood and escorted Zara out.
"That...was....wow" the young woman said once they where back on the street. "You..you messed those guys up" Thomas was silent as he stood slightly hunched over, trying to breath. "Thomas" she said and looked down, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "I..i am sorry. I didn't...i.." she was about to burst in to tears, when arms slid around her and just held her. "I am glad your safe" Thomas said gently and just held her for a moment. When he finally let her go, Zara looked in to his eyes. "where are you going now" Thomas shrugged "I am going Home of course" The girl's mouth fell open. "But..but we are in Vegas and you just saved my life. We need to celebrate! OH MY GOD, we need to catch a show. Something really special. My treat, a reward for being such a knight" Thomas sighed. "I am tired Zar" Zara was not having none of this. "OH PLEASE, i know the perfect show. The girl is REALLY talented. I just know your gonna love it"
With that, the girl ushered him away. He had no idea where he was or what was going on. Truth be told he was in a bit of a fog still from using his powers. Some how, and Thomas really could not tell you how, he ended up sitting front row. "How...did you manage any of this" Thomas asked Zara, who was beaming. "I cheated, i compelled people to give up their seats. Told them the show sucks. I know. i know its wrong but this is for you for being so sweet. " Thomas shifted a bit, he felt...out of place. Sitting there gazing at the curtain, he felt a pull in his stomach. Something was back there, he wasn't sure what or who. There was a energy that was swirling around him. "Maybe it wont be so bad".
Quickly, he descended the stairs and looked at the maid as he walked past. "Master" Thomas stopped. "My dear, you do not need to call me that. I am not your master, i am just Thomas.
